Yes, I did much the same sort of thing and have had no problems using it with Win10.

I had no issues but didn't run the installer. I copied Guide and the entire UCAC4 catalog on a usb stick from an installation on a Windows 7 machine. I copied this into a folder on my Win 10 laptop and it runs with no problems. You can also run it directly from usb.

which I need to update to indicate that the problem applies to Win10
as well.
I've not heard (at least yet) of any Win10 issues with any flavor of Guide.
