I have read this document. There is written following:
/ There are a few disadvantages to use of MPCORB. The data exists at only
one
/ epoch, always within 100 days of the present. If you try to compute
positions far
/ away from that epoch, the quality of the results will gradually
deteriorate. The
/ Guide CD provides orbital elements at 50-day intervals over a span of
several
/ decades, so the epoch of the data is never off by more than 25 days.
But I have a capability to update a database more often, than in 100 days!
In this case use of the MPC data should be more exact, than internal
database GUIDE!
I have connected a fresh MPCORB database and has received for the nearest
occultations the distinguishing data. I think, that these maps of
occultations with use fresh MPC database should be more correct.
If I am mistaken, correct me.
Thanks!
