Maybe they got corrupted in the download!
Do the file sizes given below match? (I find that I have the
contents from one of the two DVDs on my hard drive, giving files
z380 to z900. Dunno what happened to z001 to z379... I may have
to re-download them, which wouldn't be a major hardship. But
if the following file sizes are "wrong" on your end, that would
be a strong sign of trouble.)
Of course, you could have matching file sizes but non-matching
contents. If you have something to compute MD5 hashes -- not
always a straightforward thing in Windows, I'm afraid -- the following
list of hashes would tell you if you got the right contents :
ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/cats/I/322A/UCAC4/u4b/md5sum.txt
In hindsight, I should have had Guide be a bit more user-friendly
about this. It wouldn't really have been too much for it to tell you,
for A2.0 or B1.0 or URAT or UCAC-x.0, things such as :
The line in 'guide.dat' didn't make sense to Guide
The necessary files were not found in directory XYZ (which might
cause you to realize the wrong directory was being looked in)
The files are not the right size/format
Or at bare minimum, something like this :
Error -3141 occurred. Check http:/www.projectpluto.com/err_codes.htm
for details as to what this means. Something for me to think about...
