Hi Kevin,
I assume that if you go into Data Shown and turn satellites
Off, the program speeds up? How about if you use a different
TLE file?
If it's faster with a different TLE, then the question arises
of what's weird with that file. (I don't know of anything that
causes a serious slowdown, but I may just not have hit the right
combination of settings.) I'd suggest splitting the TLE file in
half and trying each half. It could be there's one object that
is causing the math to go into overdrive.
I don't know of any Win10 vs. Vista issues in Guide. (Nor do
I know of _any_ issues involving one fork of Windows versus another,
as far as Guide is concerned.) I'd not rule it out completely, but
I will bet strongly that if you have the same TLEs on both machines,
and the same settings in other departments (date, time, location
on the earth, magnitude limit), the speed will be the same on
both machines.
