Hi Phil,
It ought to be possible, if you have the data file. It looks as if
AAVSO itself provides query access, but not just a full data file.
VizieR, however, does give you access to the data :
http://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/Cat?B/vsx (readme file)
ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/B/vsx/ (ftp access to data)
Is this what you're trying to display?
If so, download the 'vsx.dat.gz' file from the ftp site. Direct
link is
ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/B/vsx/vsx.dat.gz
(about 12 MBytes, expands to about 55 MBytes). Put 'vsx.dat' into
your Guide folder, along with this 'vsx.tdf' file :
http://projectpluto.com/vsx.tdf
VSX stars should appear. Click on one and click for 'more info',
and you'll get a link to the VSX page for that object.
