I'm now using Wine (CrossOver version) to run Guide-9 on my Mac (OS 10.9.5).  It works beautifully.  The only (very minor) problem which I have encountered is with the star display.  When Guide is set to show the Greek letters it displays various strange symbols (boxes, crescents, lines) rather than the Greek letters.  I just set Guide not to display the Greek letters.   Everything else works fine.

Guide runs faster and looks better on my Mac than on the  XP computers in the observatory.
