Bill,
I'd like to suggest that as an improvement you use the scientific
date system (largest unit to smallest unit: year month day) in Guide 8.
This is more logical (and less prone to misinterpretation) than the
American (month day, year) or European = American military (day month
year) calendar systems. It corresponds to most other expressions: hour
minute seconds, pounds ounces, feet inches, dollars cents, and in fact
any decimal quantity. Most astronomical publications, data bases, etc.,
are now using the scientific system.
