Hello all,

I'd be reasonably certain this resulted from a list member getting
their e-mail broken into. (You do have to be a list member to post,
and even then, you're moderated by default. This list used to be
completely open, but the spammers forced an end to that.) The usual
method seems to be to guess a password. There are enough people
whose password is 'password' or 'letmein' or '123456' that this works.
Then you can spam everyone in their address list, including this group.

I've alternative e-mail addresses for two people who might be
'amontes', and have e-mailed them to ask if it's their account
and to please let me know when they can be unblocked.

True, you can spoof an e-mail address easily enough. Thus far,
I haven't seen anybody try spamming Yahoo lists in this manner.
Though I suppose that's only a matter of time, after which we'll
either have to moderate everything, or such lists will become
just about totally unusable.
