Owen,
The driver being a problem crossed my mind, so I tried a few different ones
and got the same results. I don't use star color mode at all. This happens
in black and white mode with very few objects in the field under a black
background and white stars. It does it with nothing else working other than
Guide. I use a Creative Lab TNT 16 meg, AMD 500 with 128 mb ram. Guide and
A2 on a separate drive from OS. The system has never given me any problems.

It is not a problem to use 32 bit video. I just raised this issue to see if
someone else had the same problem. I'll keep looking for a system problem.
