Re: [guide-user] Missing file when edifying new overlay

Christian Ambros Jan 6, 2015

Hi

I like to redraw the attention to this problem since nothing was done about it and it seems that it might have been forgotten.

After doing some fresh installations on two of our backup laptops for our observatory (clean original dvd's), one with WinXP, one with Win7Eternity 32bit, we are facing the same problems with the overlays like mentioned before. After the missing file error message a program crash follows.

Would be glad for some help since it's effecting our observations more and more seriously and there is no other alternative to Guide9.

cheers,
Christian

Hi all,
I am running Guide 8 on Wine and I have just successfully created an the overlay using the procedure Christian describes. I am using Crossover 14.0.1 which is based on Wine 1.7.25.

Hi,
just a guess, because I had installed Guide 8 on a MACbook with Virtualbox some time ago.
When transferring Guide files to the MAC (via an iso file), they became write protected.
(Please don't beat me, if this is not the case; ... just wanted to help).
