Guide on Windows 8.1 problem

Hi,

I have copied Guide 9 (version dated 11.08.2014) from a laptop running Windows XP to one running Windows 8.1 (64 bit).

When I came to turn on the Meteor Shower User Dataset (Extras, Select Dataset, Adjust Dataset, On, Ok, Done) nothing is happening. Trying to turn off a Dataset that was on, when transferred, produced the same result.

The only other thing I have noticed so far is that the icon on the top bar are much further apart. The few other things I have tried seem to work ok.

Has anybody else come across this problem, or know of a solution, or do I need to install the guide from the original disks then add all the updates/additions?
