(New) "Pseudo-MPEC" for 2010-050B = RV223A9 = Chang'e 2 hardware

Note that this is the booster left over from the Chang'e 2 mission. Click here for data on the probe for this mission, which spent some months around the moon before heading out toward the Earth/Sun L2 point on 2011 June 9, then maneuvering to fly by the asteroid (4197) Toutatis.
Note also that this is a "new" version of the pseudo-MPEC, created after the March 2012 recovery of this object. Click here for the original pseudo-MPEC, which includes orbits from when the object first left lunar orbit and comments about its trajectory back then.
You can get customized ephemerides for this object from the Minor Planet Center's Distant Artificial Satellites Observation page; or you can copy and paste the following astrometry into Find_Orb and do it yourself. Though be warned that at least at present, it's tricky to get the 2011 data to connect to the 2012 data. It really shouldn't be as difficult as it is; I think there's something a little screwy within Find_Orb, but haven't diagnosed it as yet. I've hopes that, with a little more data, the problem will go away.
I posted some remarks about the linkage on MPML. As more astrometry comes in, I've hopes of figuring out the future of this object, i.e., when it will get ejected from the earth/moon system (or, if we're lucky, collide with the moon or earth... note that the latter would be harmless, but would make an interesting sight for whomever is able to see it.)
